The
Harvard Secondary School Intensive English Language (SIEL) Program is open
to international students between the ages of 16 and 18 who have completed
grades 11 or 12. Applicants must submit all parts of the Secondary School
Intensive English Language Program application with a $50 nonrefundable
application fee by May 2, 2003.
Students who pay by credit card may apply online, or students may complete
the application form in the printed catalogue and mail it or deliver it
in person. Application forms are also available at 51 Brattle Street or
they may be downloaded from this website.
(To download PDFs students must have Adobe's Acrobat
Reader installed on their computers.)
Early application is encouraged because enrollment is limited, and a
late-payment fee is charged to all Summer School students whose bills are
not paid in full by May 30, 2003. It is the student's responsibility to
ensure that all necessary materials reach the program office in sufficient
time to be considered. The Summer School is not responsible for forms that
are lost in transit.
The admissions committee considers students only after all application and
supplementary materials have been received. A decision letter usually is
sent within a week of that time. Admitted students will be sent housing
applications with their admission packets, along with more information about
University facilities and policies. Admitted students must pay in full by
May 30 to avoid late fees. (See the Academic Calendar
for late fees and payment schedules.)
